A new candidate bidding for an open seat in the House of Representatives, Sheri Few, wants to make America “America again.” Sounds perfectly normal, isn’t it?
Sheri Few, a South Carolina candidate, running in the special election for South Carolina’s 5th Congressional District—a congressional seat vacated when Rep. Nick Mulvaney (R-SC) stepped down to join the Trump administration as director of the Office of Management and Budget. She is a former member of the South Carolina GOP Executive Committee and an education activist.
Among her other great statements are: liberal ideas are ruining democracy, Common Core, green energy and LGBT community are ruining our country. Taking down confederate flags directly leads to oblivion and makes people forget their history.
Her site declares “It’s time to Seize the Moment and take back our country from leftist ideologues.” Just recently, Few issued several political ads of a very questionable content.
Few says that she “will not only make America great again, but she will make America America again.” But take a look at her ad: she is actually holding an AR-15 (the favorite gun of school shooters) in front of the US flag. "Weak politicians are too quick to blame a horrible tragedy on a flag or a gun, or even free speech, and that's how bad laws are made," she says.
Her most recent ad was issued several weeks after her Republican opponents voted to take down the Confederate flag from the S.C. Statehouse grounds in response to Dylann Roof’s racially motivated murder of nine black people in Charleston.
She doesn’t directly call for the restoration of the flag to statehouse grounds (that is a local issue, not a congressional one), but her website does assert she will “defund federal programs that … want to take down Confederate monuments and destroy our history.” Few’s trying to ride the Trumpian wave of anti-political correctness here, wherein “political correctness” means “getting rid of symbols that are used as rallying signs for racists and memorials celebrating soldiers who fought against the US government for their right to own people.”
“It’s time for leaders to stand up and stop political correctness and fight for what we believe,” Few says.
There are several times when she speaks similar nonsense, from talking about Michelle Obama not being a patriot, to saying that young people want to destroy America by voting for Bernie Sanders, and that school systems are not teaching Christian values anymore.
What a curious woman. And, the most weird part, Few actually has supporters. And it can actually happen that she gets 20% of the vote and become one of the representatives voting on health care and tax reform this year…
Stay woke and think twice before voting!
