The Black Panthers’ members from Milwaukee organized marched through the Sherman Park to protest ‘genocide’ of black people at the hands of law enforcement. Some of them were armed with guns.
The march was held in the name of Sylville Smith, Jay Anderson and others who have been killed by police officers.
"This is genocide. It can't go on. Any other country, any other people it would be declared as such," said Dr. Alli Muhammad with the Revoluntionary Black Panther Party.
They demand for the Milwaukee mayor and police chief resignation.
Just recently a police officer from Milwaukee (who is as black as his victim) was charged with first-degree reckless homicide for killing Sylville Smit, who was armed with a stolen gun and was trying to flee a traffic stop.
Earlier this month the Milwaukee County District Attorney earlier this month said the Wauwatosa police officer who shot and killed Anderson in June wouldn't be criminally charged.
A police spokesman said officers monitored Sunday's demonstration. "Open carrying a firearm is not arrestable absent any other violations of the law," the spokesperson said.
What do you think about their protest? Isn’t it too much? Or it’s exactly what our country needs right now?
